Erdal & Co is a leading professional firm of chartered accountants established in 1973 in North Cyprus providing independent audit, accounting, tax and consultancy services. 4 partners are all members of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Erdal & Co is licensed and authorised by the Central Bank to carry out audits of banks, by the Ministry of Finance to carry out audits of all private and public companies and by European Union to carry out grant verification.

The firm provides registration services for limited companies with the Registrar of Companies, Free Port and Zone companies, International Business Company (IBC), International Banking Units (IBU), Public Limited Companies, Banks and Insurance companies. Due diligence, Financial Valuation Reports and EU Grant Expenditure Verification Services are also provided.

Team

Hüseyin Erdal

Partner

Born in 1944. Graduate of the English School Nicosia Cyprus. Won the “Chartered Accountant” scholarship of Turkish Communal Chamber and became an articled clerk in Peat Marwich Mitchell & Co London. In 1968, having completed his professional training and exams, became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Returned to Cyprus in 1968 and as part of his scholarship terms worked for 5 years for the Turkish Communal Chamber, in Auditor General’s Office (6 months), State Planning Organization (6 months) and 4 years as the Chief Internal Auditor of the Cooperative Central Bank.

Established Erdal & Co in 1973 and is a partner of Erdal & Co. Carried out the following duties from 1973 to date.

  • Minister of Economy and Finance of the Federated State of North Cyprus in 1978. Signed the Trade Protocol Agreement with Turkey on behalf of the Turkish Federated State of North Cyprus in 1978.
  • Honorary Chairman of Evkaf between 1990-1993. Evkaf Foundation was established in 1571 and is a constitutional religious foundation.
  • Chairman of the Association of Certified Public Accountants of North Cyprus from 1987-2000. In 2001 at the AGM of the Association was unanimously elected as the Honorary President of the Association.

Firuz Fehmi

Partner

Born in Nicosia in 1954. Studied Business Studies (Honours) in University of Westminster London. After graduation became a trainee chartered accountant again in London and qualified in 1981. Returned to Cyprus in 1982 and after military service joined Erdal & Co. As one of the partners of Erdal & Co, also serves on the Board of Directors, and is the president of, The Association of Certified Public Accountants of North Cyprus.

As part of these roles, he participates in the meetings between European Union and TRNC and plays an active role for the Association of Certified Public Accountants of North Cyprus both in Turkey and in TRNC.

Eral Erdal

Partner

Born in 1976 in Nicosia.

Having graduated from Turkish Maarif College (Nicosia) in 1993 he proceeded to study BSc Accounting & Finance and Economics degree at Oxford Brookes University. He graduated with First Class Honours in 1997.

From 1997 to 2002 he worked as trainee chartered accountant for Coopers & Lybrand and CTM Partnership in England as prerequisite to obtain the chartered accountancy title.

During this period he successfully completed all the exams of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England Wales and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002.

As one of the partners of Erdal & Co. Since 2003, plays an active role in the audit of banks and in the audit, accounting, consultancy and tax services for the other companies and corporations. Also plays an active role in providing consultancy to banks and companies regarding International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Also he has been authorised by the European Union (EU) to carry out Expenditure Verification audits. He is continuing this role actively.

Damla Fehmi

Partner

Born in Kyrenia in 1987.

Graduated from The American College (Kyrenia) in 2004 where she had full scholarships throughout the years due to successful performance.

She then proceeded to study BSc Economics degree at Queen Mary, University of London. She graduated with First Class Honours in July 2008.

From the fall 2008, she worked as a trainee chartered accountant in Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP where she completed all the requirements including all the exams of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and qualified as Chartered Accountant in 2012.

She worked in Crowe Clark Whitehill as senior Auditor and specialised in Not-For-Profit sector.

She joined Erdal & Co in 2012 and works actively as one of the partners of Erdal & Co.

Mehmet Diker

Manager

Mehmet Diker was born in Nicosia, in 1966. He has been with Erdal & Co since 1997. He has Authorised Accountant – Auditor certificate from the Ministry of Finance.

He has extensive experience in the bookkeeping, preparation of financial accounts, tax computation and tax returns of limited and sole proprietorship companies. He also has specialised knowledge in construction and trading company sectors including dealing with their complex accounting issues and tax matters.

He has dealt with many tax conflicts of the clients with the Tax Office and resolved the issue.

He is currently Manager of the Incomplete Records Department of Erdal & Co.

Halil Ulvi

Manager

Born in 1971 in Nicosia. Having graduated from Haydarpaşa Ticaret Lisesi in 1989 he succesfully completed Anadolu Open University and obtained degree in Economy in 1995.

He worked as accountant in Jasmine Court Hotel from 1990-1995. He joined Erdal & Co in September 1997. He has Authorised Accountant – Auditor certificate issued by the Ministry of Finance.

He is successfully carrying out audits of Banks, Insurance companies and large scale corporations. He is the manager of the audit department of Erdal & Co.
